Cookie Policy
Effective date: June 10, 2026
This page describes the cookies and similar technologies used on consentico.com (this marketing site). It does not describe what Consentico does on a merchant's Shopify storefront — that's controlled by the merchant who installed the app.
What we use
We keep this site intentionally minimal. We do not run advertising pixels, retargeting tags, or session-recording tools. The only third-party tag we load is Google Analytics 4, behind Google Consent Mode v2:
- If you click Accept, GA4 records pageviews and sets the
_ga/_ga_*cookies listed below. - If you click Reject (or never interact with the banner), GA4 sends only cookieless, anonymous pings — no cookies are set, no identifiers are stored on your device, and Google models an aggregate visitor count. You remain anonymous to us.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes unique visitors so we can count page views. Loaded only after consent. IP anonymization is enabled. | 2 years | Analytics |
_ga_* | Google Analytics 4 | Persists session state for the GA4 property. Loaded only after consent. | 2 years | Analytics |
consentico_marketing_consent | Consentico (this site) | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics so we don't show you the banner again. Stored inlocalStorage, not a cookie. No personal data. | Until you clear browser storage | Strictly necessary |
Eating our own dog food
We make a cookie consent product, so we hold ourselves to the standard we ask merchants to meet. Analytics tags do not fire until you opt in, and we do not load advertising pixels on this site.
Local storage
Next.js may set a small amount of local storage for routing and preference state. None of it is shared with third parties or used for tracking.
Changes
If we update what runs on this site, this page will be updated and dated.
